Dear parents and carers,

We have ended the week on a high, with the Br. Kerrigan Walk this morning and party this afternoon. The boys have had a great time, despite the unpredictable weather! They now need to fulfil their part of the bargain by collecting their sponsorship money for the village well in Maburreh, Sierra Leone.

I was delighted earlier this week to receive messages from members of the public congratulating our Year 8 boys on their excellent conduct at the Williamson Art Gallery on Wednesday.

The Year 9 Cricket squad have made the most of the recent cricket-friendly weather with victories against Merchant Taylor’s, Calday and Cheadle Hulme and Year 8 defeated King’s School Macclesfield. Year 9s Mathew Lynds, Sam Neal and Isaac Taylor have been selected for the Mersey Cup competition next week.

Next week Years 8 and 9 have a Careers and Enterprise Day on Monday. On Tuesday we have our annual Sports Day, which this year is being held at The Oval from 9.30am-3.30pm. The 611 and 612 buses will leave from the Oval but will make all their usual stops on Tuesday afternoon.

If your household is gripped by election fever you will be pleased to learn that we are holding a Mock General Election for Years 7-10 on Thursday, Returning Officer Mr BJ Dowse.

On a personal note I thank those parents and families who attended my Retirement Mass on Tuesday. It was lovely to share the occasion with you.

We are ending the week with our Year 13 Leavers Celebration in Leasowe this evening!

I hope that you and your families have an enjoyable weekend.

Yours in Christ,

Simon Duggan
