Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy Feast Days of St Anselm and Blessed Edmund Rice. We look forward to celebrating Mass together at Our Lady’s Church in Birkenhead on Tuesday. It will be a special occasion, with our wonderful choir singing and the formal investiture of our new Head Boy during the Liturgy of the Word.

Thank you to all who attended the informative Year 12 UCAS evening. The guidance provided was invaluable in supporting students as they consider their next steps in education.

We were delighted to welcome DKMS UK and their Generation Lifesaver programme to the College this week, raising awareness of the urgent need for stem cell donors. We are proud to have achieved 110 new registrations. Plans are also underway to establish the College as a blood donation hub in the next academic year, further details will follow.  Proud to be putting the Edmund Rice 8 Essentials into real life action!

Congratulations to our Year 12 Business and Economics students who took part in Lancaster University’s Next-Gen Entrepreneurs Challenge. Their innovative project, Solaspring, a solar-powered water filtration system addressing global clean water access saw them win their heat and reach the final, where they impressed judges with their ambition and creativity.

Congratulations also to Deputy Head Boy Ewan Cartledge, who achieved second place in a national competition organised by 12 New Square Chambers in honour of Stephen Lawrence. As part of this achievement, he has been awarded valuable work experience with the organisation.

A reminder that we welcome donations of pre-loved uniform, particularly PE kit, rugby boots, and branded items. These can be dropped off at reception.

Finally, best of luck to all Yr.11/13 students in the midst of their revision, the summer examinations are now underway. A polite reminder that the Key Stage 3 summer exam timetable has been shared, and revision materials are available on Satchel.
