Dear Parents and Carers,

On Tuesday morning, we gathered at Our Lady’s Church in Birkenhead to celebrate the Feast of St. Anselm and Blessed Edmund Rice. It was a truly special occasion, and we extend our sincere thanks to our talented musicians, readers, and altar servers, whose contributions made the liturgy so meaningful and memorable.

We also offer our prayers and congratulations to the students who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this evening at Our Lady’s Church. Since October, they have been meeting regularly with Father Michael and our chaplain, Mr Kearney, in preparation for this important milestone. This evening represents the culmination of their dedication, commitment, and spiritual growth.  Congratulations to Mateusz (10K), Charlie (8B), Thomas (8A), Thomas (8J), Oberon (Year 13), Zack (8J), Joshua (8J), Daniel (8J), Patrick (8R), Nathan (10J), Shinwin (10A), Austin (8B), and Osin (8A).

Exam season is well underway.  I have been very encouraged to see so many students taking full advantage of the wide range of revision sessions available particularly at lunchtime, the Yr11 yard is notably quieter!   Additional sessions are also taking place after school each day.  It is also very evident that students are continuing their studies diligently at home. Students in Key Stage 3 and Year 10 should now also be beginning their preparations for the upcoming summer examinations. Revision materials are available on Satchel, and I encourage you to support your child by discussing their revision and independent study routines to ensure they are using their time effectively. Success is modest improvement, done consistently, 1% better every day.

Finally, thank you for your continued generosity in donating pre-loved uniform, particularly PE kit, rugby boots, and branded items. Donations can be dropped off at reception and are greatly appreciated. A reminder that: Yr13 Prom Tickets are available on Parent Pay the final date for purchase is Friday 22nd May.

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend,

Mrs Cubbin
