Dear Parents/Carers,

Our assemblies this week focused on Edmund Rice’s teaching of ‘Building a Christian Community’.   As such, we welcomed back Alumni Patrick Burke, who delivered an inspirational and motivating assembly about how he grasped every opportunity the College community offered whilst he was a student here. Patrick left the College in 2017 and has since travelled across the world working as a sports journalist; he has published more than 5,000 articles. Patrick now works for an international sports agency firm and will soon be jetting off to Hong Kong.  I am very keen to invite a variety of Alumni to talk to our students so if you know anyone who may be interested in getting involved please let me know.

Thank you to all who attended our bumper packed 6^th Form Open Evening event on Tuesday, it was also wonderful to see so many new prospective students and parents in attendance.  Just a reminder our new ‘Yr.11 Transition to 6^th Form Experience day’ will be held on 12^th December.

Our fabulous Junior SVP team have been extremely busy over the past few weeks co-ordinating efforts to raise money for the Samaritans Purse and Operation Christmas Child.  190 shoe boxes will soon be on their way to those most in need this Christmas.  A huge thank you to all who have supported this.

Year 8 participated in a tremendous ‘Meet the Employer’ careers event yesterday. This involved workshops with American Airlines, Cullimore – Dutton Solicitors, Green Socket Electrical Ltd, Seafarers Careers at Sea, Suresol Industrial Design, Make Life Kind, Wirral Council, Merseyside Police and Shedkm Architects/Design. 

Congratulations to our U-14 Hockey team yesterday who played in the NW Indoor Finals and good luck to all our teams playing this weekend.
