On Thursday 21st November, all Year 8 pupils participated in the “Meet the Employer” Careers Event at the College. This involved question and answer sessions with American Airlines, Cullimore – Dutton Solicitors, Green Socket Electrical Ltd, Seafarers Careers at Sea, Suresol Industrial Design, Make Life Kind, Wirral Council, Merseyside Police and Shedkm Architects/Design.

The purpose of the event is to provide pupils with some insight into the world of work that we are preparing them for in terms of what a working day entails. It is easy to forget that by the time they have completed their GCSEs and A Levels they will have been in an education environment for well over a decade. It is therefore imperative that they do not lose sight of the fact that their time at the College, albeit vital for their development, is part of a transition to them becoming useful members of society.

The employers did a tremendous job keeping their audiences interested, curious, often amused, but invariably engaged. They all proved to be outstanding ambassadors for their respective organisations and everyone at the College is extremely grateful for their invaluable contributions to what was a highly successful event.

The pupils conducted themselves extremely well and made a positive impression on our guests.
