Dear parents and carers,
we started the week on a high with the celebration of our 90th Anniversary Mass on Saturday in the Hall.
I am delighted to announce that we have appointed old Anselmian Corin Willis as Deputy Headteacher from September. Corin is currently Deputy Headteacher of St. Julie’s High School in Woolton.
This week we were awarded the Martin Gallier School of the Year Award. This charity supports young men with mental health issues, and we have already been recognised as a Suicide Safer Community. This gives you a clear indication of our commitment to the wellbeing of our students!
Year 10 Exams begin next week and Year 12 UCAS Exams begin on Wednesday, so please ensure that your sons engage in productive revision this weekend!
GCSE Speaking and Art Tests continue this week, and there are 6th Form BTEC Exams on Friday, so please monitor your son’s wellbeing and check that he has completed the required preparation.
I am very sad to announce the deaths of 2 great friends of the College this week. Baron Frank Field of Birkenhead was our local MP for 40 years and Br. John Holden was our host in Freetown on our Immersion Retreat to Sierra Leone in February.
May Frank and John rest in peace.
I wish you and your families an enjoyable and warmer weekend.
Yours in Christ,
Simon Duggan
Headmaster
