The Year 10 Cricket team progressed into the next round of the Cheshire Cup, with a convincing victory over Tarporley High School.
St Anselm’s batted first and scored a solid 95 for 3 on an Astro with a slow outfield.
Lewis Foran scored 25 in a very mature and convincing display, giving the rest of his team a platform to score runs. Dan Peers and Albin George also batted well, but Tarporley gave away too many extras.
St Anselm’s bowled extremely well with Ed Unsworth leading the way with a maiden and a wicket. Finnan Ashton (2) and Harry Batch (2) also bowled intelligently and good fielding from Patrick Laws restricted our opponents to 66.
A good start and plenty of matches to play over the next few weeks!
Well done
