Dear Parent/Carers,
A Week of Outstanding Achievement!
It has been a highly successful week across the College. Congratulations to our Senior 1st Cross Country team, who delivered an exceptional performance by finishing second overall at the prestigious King Henry VIII Relays. Our second team also performed superbly, finishing 15th and securing the position of the leading ‘B’ team on the day. Taken together, these results confirm us as the second fastest senior boys’ relay team in the country. Considering the calibre of schools involved, this is a remarkable achievement and a clear reflection of the strength and depth of our cross-country programme.
We wish the very best of luck to our U15 Rugby team, who travel to Warwick School on Monday to compete in the quarter-final of the Continental Tyres National Cup. Best wishes also to our U16 Rugby team, who head to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield on Wednesday to compete in the National Schools Sports Magazine competition. Both teams are proudly representing the North of England. We are now ranked as one of the top eight teams nationally for both U-15 & U16 teams.
I have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback following the Year 7 “Meet the Employer” event and Personal Development workshop held this morning in partnership with Merseyside Police. The boys were engaging, motivated and displayed exceptional enthusiasm throughout.
This week also saw the delivery of special assemblies to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. The theme, ‘Bridging Generations’, served as a powerful call to action, reminding us that the responsibility of remembrance does not end with the survivors, but lives on through their children, grandchildren and all of us.
Finally, for those attending the ‘Race Night’ tomorrow evening, I hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable night, tickets are still available via the College website.
Kind regards,
Mrs Cubbin
