The Year 11 Under-16 team capped a tremendous term by deservedly winning the Cheshire Cup at Chester RFC on Wednesday 29th November.
We beat St. Ambrose College 11-5 in a hard-fought contest in which we were never behind. Half backs Frazer Hancox (2 penalties) and Jamie Arista (1 try) scored our points but this was a tremendous team effort which included many heroic tackles and steals of possession as our opponents desperately piled on the pressure at the end of the match.
This is our first Cheshire Cup triumph since 1994 which makes it all the sweeter!
Congratulations to captain Freddie Jones and his squad and to coaches James Preston, in his first term at the College, and student assistant Conor Carey who have instilled a fantastic team spirit in the squad.
