Dear parents and carers,
we now have only 1 week until the end of half-term and autumn has clearly arrived as recent wet and blustery weather has confirmed!
Our visitors from Justice Desk Africa and PRATYek India made a significant impression on our Year 8 and 10 students during their visits on Tuesday when they led social justice and human rights sessions, and such encounters are one of the many ways in which we seek to broaden the perspectives of our students and prepare them to be global citizens equipped for life in the 21st Century. We ahve also provided them with a donation from the Br. Kerrigan Fund.
We have now completed our Harvest Festival Collection, which has been on display in the Hall this week and looks magnificent. The College SVP will deliver the proceeds to the Wirral Food Bank on Monday, along with a cash donation. Thank you for your support and generosity.
We have continued to enjoy sporting success this week. The 1st XV defeated Scarisbrick Hall 22-20 to move into the 3rd round of the Nat West Vase, the 1st XI Hockey defeated Wirral GS 1-0 and the Intermediate (Years 9&10) Cross Country Team won the local round and qualified for the Regional Final of the English Schools Cup.
Year 11 Parents Evening is from 5-8pm on Thursday 19th October. Year 11 Monitoring grades were distributed at the Y11 Study Skills Evening last Tuesday and have been posted to those parents who were unable to attend. We expect all Year 11 parents to endeavour to join us on Thursday as we continue to prepare your sons for the most challenging year of their education to date.
I wish you and your families an enjoyable weekend.
Let us hope that the England rugby team doesn’t ruin it!
Kind regards,
Simon Duggan
