The leadership of the College is very sad to announce the death of our recent Governor Charles Mills (2017-20) who passed away during half-term. Charles had a distinguished career as a teacher, Headteacher and executive in Special Educational Needs education and support for the disadvantaged and pupils in alternative provision. Charles was active in Christian Brothers education, including as Chairman of the Edmund Rice Bicentennial Trust. Charles was a devoted, lifelong Evertonian, and was a co-founder of Everton Free School (2010-2022). He was publicly remembered before Everton’s match against Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Charles was a dedicated and supportive governor at the college and we send our sincere condolences to his widow Liz and children Tom and Lucy and his grandchildren.
May this wonderful man rest in peace.
