Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Friday Club. It was a truly special occasion, filled with joyful reunions and memories with former students and staff. Our current members thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and the sense of community was palpable. Thank you also to all who supported our Car Boot Sale on Sunday, your generous donations of preloved uniforms were greatly appreciated.

This week, it has been wonderful to see our Year 10 students thriving during their work experience placements. We look forward to welcoming them back on Monday for our ‘Economic Awareness Day, where they will explore themes of risk management, investment, and the stock market.  An exciting opportunity to broaden their horizons and spark their ambitions.

You may have read the news on our social media platforms: we are now the proud owners of not one, but two new minibuses! This milestone was only possible thanks to your generosity through our GoFundMe campaign, and the steadfast support of our sponsors. One of the minibuses is already in use, having transported our Year 12 students on an enriching overnight visit to Cambridge University.

This afternoon, we gathered in the Brothers’ Garden to celebrate Mass under the summer sun. It was a beautiful and moving experience that provided a moment of peace and reflection as we near the end of the school year. Inspired by the growing number of students using the chapel for quiet reflection during lunch, we are excited to announce plans for a new sacred space in the Brothers’ garden. This will be dedicated to Our Lady and will include prayer stations for each mystery of the Rosary.

It is hard to believe that next week marks the final week of the academic year. Please remember to check Edulink from Tuesday morning for end-of-year reports for Years 7, 8, and 10. For Year 9, as they conclude Key Stage 3, reports will be both posted to your home and uploaded to Edulink.

We look forward to celebrating our students’ achievements on Rewards Day this Tuesday. Details have already been shared via email. On Wednesday, we will hold our Participation Awards Assemblies, and all students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm for the summer break. Please note, the 611 and 612 buses will collect students from the front of the College at this time.

Wishing you all a restful and joyful weekend,

Mrs Cubbin
