The 6th Form is open to all students of the College and we also welcome external students annually. The essential factor is that you should benefit from the courses you choose. The College will only accept students into the 6th Form if they have already demonstrated the maturity that is required to cope with the demands of being a 6th Form student here.
In order to qualify for our 6th Form you need to achieve at least 5 good GCSE passes, including English and Maths, and it is anticipated that you will have attained at least grade 6 at GCSE in subjects to be taken at A Level (some subjects require a grade 7). Specific subject requirements are found in the individual subject pages.
We do not have an external limit on numbers to 6th Form, admittance is based on students meeting the Entry Criteria of 5 x 5 GCSE’s and at least a 6 in the subjects they wish to study at A Level (or 7 for Maths and Physics)
All students progressing to Sixth Form study at the College will be offered a highly ambitious curriculum. The majority of Year 12 students study 3 subjects of their choice as well as various enrichment activities. All Year 12 students take part in Games and they also have one lesson of general Religious Studies each week alongside study support/enrichment.
In Year 13, students continue A-Level study and some may also submit an Extended Project. Year 13 students also benefit from a weekly lesson in Religious Studies and the weekly games session becomes a voluntary activity.
Students will be asked to choose from the list below:
