The College provides all the support necessary to help students aspire to higher education at university, and to pursue careers via alternative routes in order to realise their ambitions, and full potential. As an example of the increasingly broad range of current opportunities, a group of Year 11 boys attended a tour of the excellent new facilities at Wirral Met’s Wirral Waters campus on Tower Road in Birkenhead. The morning included a practical session where the group constructed light fittings and switches under the close supervision of current apprentices before testing their devices using mains electricity. The event provided a brief but pertinent insight into the construction industry which was genuinely appreciated by the group. Many thanks to Paul Martin and the staff and apprentices at Wirral Met for looking after us so well on the day.
