Our regular Friday afternoon mass took on a special significance this week, as it was offered for the Repose of the Soul of Pope Francis. The mass was attended by the students of 9A, and was also opened up to members of staff. Whilst mourning for the Holy Father, the celebrant Father Michael, our lead priest, reminded us of the events of Easter that Pope Francis made sure he celebrated prior to his passing; of the Hope which the resurrected Christ shows to us through his Church, much as he did to the first disciples two thousand years ago. As they showed through their lives and works contained in the Acts of the Apostles, this Hope can have a transformative effect on human beings. It was in the sure knowledge of this Hope that Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday.
