On the evening of Monday, 23rd June, our lead priest Fr. Michael celebrated the Year 13 Leaver’s Mass, with members of the current Year 13 and parents. The occasion was one of both joy and sadness, with uplifting readings and special bidding prayers that were dedicated to our departing students and the wider college community, read by (now former) head-boy Mathew Joinson. The sadness was expressed by members of the staff at the thought of losing such a brilliant year group, who have proved excellent role models to lower school in faith, in academic achievements and sporting prowess.
The Mass was followed by our ‘Colours Ceremony’ in which students merits and achievements were recounted and celebrated, along with certain fond memories contributed by form-teachers, society leaders, the PE Department and other staff. Following this was a short video to commemorate their time at the college, recalling when they first came here in Year 7, right up to the final days of Year 13. This video truly brought home what a fine cohort of young men they have grown up to be; we wish them every success as they head off into the world, whether that be to further studies at university, or elsewhere.
