On Tuesday, 29th April, Years 7-10 attended a celebratory mass at Our Lady’s Church, Cavendish Street. This was a votive mass to mark the Feast of St. Anselm, from 21st April, and also the feast of Blessed Edmund Rice, which is on 5th May. Both these occasions fall on bank holidays this year, so a date was chosen in between to mark them collectively. This was also an opportunity to visit Fr. Michael, our lead priest, in his parish, and to re-affirm those local church ties that have been so important to the College through the years. The occasion was truly special, with over 600 students and around 40 members of staff uniting in giving thanks for our Patron Saint, and for Blessed Edmund Rice and the order of Christian Brothers, who founded our school in 1933. Above all, this was a moment to show that the Catholic Mission started by those first Brothers is continuing in the modern day.
