Dear parents and carers,
This week our focus has been on the season of Advent and its call to give alms, pray and fast. Each year group has chosen a specific charity to support through fundraising. After Christmas, students will have the opportunity to reflect on the impact of their contributions.
- Year 7: CAFOD
- Year 8: Empowering Girls in Education in Sierra Leone
- Year 9: Charles Thompson Mission
- Year 10: Wirral Food Bank
- Year 11: CARITAS
- Sixth Form: CRY
Thank you in advance for your support.
We are also looking forward to the Sixth Form’s ‘Teacher Challenges’ next week! I look forward to seeing what this entails! As part of our Advent celebrations, Year 7 took part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Monday, a meaningful and reflective experience for all involved.
On Tuesday, we welcomed back the charity “Solutions Not Sides” for powerful and engaging workshops. The programme is based on three key values: non-violence, equality for all, and the rejection of hatred in our world today.
On Wednesday, our Senior and Junior SVP groups hosted the Annual SVP Christmas Party. Guests enjoyed refreshments, music and bingo, creating a joyful afternoon for everyone. Later, the Hall was transformed into an ‘Acoustic Live Lounge’, showcasing over 20 impressive musical performances. We are incredibly proud of the talent within St Anselm’s.
A reminder that Year 11 mock exams begin on Monday. Please encourage your child to revise daily and use this weekend effectively. This preparation is vital for success in the summer exams.
Unfortunately, the U-16 National Cup game v Cheadle, due to be played yesterday had to be postponed due to the weather. We wish the very best of luck to our THREE teams competing in the National Cross Country Final tomorrow. Their dedication throughout the term has been outstanding, we are extremely proud of them.
Wishing you a peaceful and happy weekend.
