“… the purpose of school must be to give students the skills to get a job. This means that education is a way for anyone to support him or herself and economically contribute to society (Education).” Libre Texts 12th September 2022

That being the case, having our pupils take part in mock interviews seems sensible. It worked so well for our current Year 11 pupils last year that the College ran the event again on Thursday 20th April in the Hall.

We were able to have attracted over thirty excellent quality interviewers to put our pupils to the test. Each interviewer saw around five pupils to see if they maintained clarity, confidence, demeanour and eye-contact and general communication skills whilst under pressure.

Feedback from all those concerned was extremely positive and the hope is that when the near-inevitable day arrives and they are faced with a real-life interview, they will look back at their recent experience with a “been-there-done-that” confidence. Many thanks to all the interviewers that participated, not merely for giving up their time so generously, but for the wonderful spirit they demonstrated in order to make the event such a success.
