Dear Parents and Carers,
How wonderful it has been to welcome all of our students back to College this week, especially our new Year 7, who have already made such a positive impression in lessons. With the addition of our new Year 12 students, we now have over 1,000 students on roll, an exciting first in the history of our College.
Speaking of firsts, it gives me great pleasure to celebrate some truly outstanding achievements from the last year:
- Our highest-ever percentage of top GCSE grades (7–9).
- Ranked in the top 10% nationally for A-level Value Added results.
- Ranked in the top 10% nationally for attendance in every term last year.
- Ranked in the top 10% nationally for rugby, cross country, and athletics.
These accomplishments reflect the remarkable commitment of our students, the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of our families.
Good luck to all competing in sporting fixtures this weekend; the endless washing of muddy kits begin!
Finally, I would also like to draw your attention to some important upcoming dates and change of timings to the end of the College day:
- 11th September – Open Evening 5-8pm
- The College will close for all students at 1:00pm. The 611 and 612 buses will depart at this time. If your child is helping at the event, please ensure you have completed the online permission form.
- 19th September – Entrance Exam
- Due to the large number of candidates, KS3 students will complete work remotely from home (further details will be emailed by Mr Rumsby next week). The College will remain open as usual for KS4 and KS5. A second entrance exam day will also run on the following Saturday.
- 25th September – Year 7 Welcome Mass
- This special event will take place at 6:00pm. All Year 7 students are expected to attend, and we warmly look forward to welcoming as many parents and carers as possible.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Kind regards,
Mrs Cubbin
