Dear Parents/Carers,

This week we welcomed staff and students from St. Michael & All Angels Primary School who joined us in a very special Celebration of the Word Assembly.  We reviewed the Icon of the visitation as part of its pilgrimage around all schools in the Shrewsbury Diocese.  The Icon will remain in College until we pass it onto St. Pauls P.S on Monday.

Also, this week we welcomed the girls from St. Julies School in lIverpool.  Students in Years 9, 10, 12 and 13 were able to hear the powerful messages in another award-winning drama piece exploring themes of weapons culture and codes of silence within criminal activities.  The title of the piece – ‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time’ – is an ironic reminder that in actual fact these innocent bystanders were often in exactly the right place doing things that they were fully entitled to and so bear no blame for what befell them.

Well done to Will Hollis in Yr13 who spoke at the Edmund Rice Conference on his work and impact of the Edmund Rice Camps.  He and others also heard from the inspirational speaker Jaz Ampaw-Farr.  For more information on our Edmund Rice Summer camps please go to our website.

Thank you to all who turned out for our Year 11 parents evening last night and for completing the questionnaires as your feedback is appreciated. If any Year 11 parents/carers haven’t managed to submit a response, please take a minute using this link:  https://forms.office.com/e/6z9f12kdRw

We had over 90% attendance.  If you were unable to attend, please do contact Mr Formela at pformela@st-anselms.com

I look forward to seeing all who are attending the Annual Anselmian Association Dinner today.  We look forward to hearing from guest speaker and old boy Mr Paul Anderson Everest Climber who has raised over £100K for dementia.

Finally, you should have received a letter with an update on our IT systems and procedures in College.  I emailed the letter and sent a paper copy home with students too.  Please do call or email me directly if you have any questions at all.  I will continue to keep you updated.  We are very hopeful that all systems will be fully operational for students returning after half term.

Kind regards,

Mrs Cubbin
