Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a week of achievements across the College. Congratulations to our Year 12 and 13 students who competed in the Regional Final of the UKMT Senior Team Maths Challenge. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and performed exceptionally well in all rounds. The questions were highly challenging, and the standard of competition was extremely strong, with the top four mathematicians from each Sixth Form taking part.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our Advent Charities. Each year group has selected a charity to support, and fundraising is already underway, beginning with a series of non-uniform days next week: Year 7 on Monday, Year 11 on Tuesday and Year 10 on Wednesday. Students will have the opportunity to follow the impact of their donations in January.

A huge congratulations to our outstanding U16 Rugby Team, who secured a fantastic win against Kings Macclesfield in the Cheshire Cup semi-final. Further information regarding the date and time of the final, our second in the past three years, will be shared shortly. This is an incredible achievement, and we are immensely proud of the team and coaches.

Following this success, our U15 Rugby Team also triumphed in the Regional Final of the top-tier National Cup competition. They delivered an excellent performance against Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, winning 27–13. The team has now progressed to the final eight schools nationally, a remarkable accomplishment. Congratulations to all players and coaches for this outstanding achievement.

I look forward to welcoming everyone attending the FOSA Wreath Making event this evening. It already promises to be a fantastic occasion; the hall looks fabulous.

Finally, best of luck to our Year 11 students as they continue preparing for their mock examinations, which begin on 8th December.

Please note the email already sent re: Gas Works on Egerton Rd. Starting on Monday there will be a one-way system in place, please avoid at all costs.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Mrs Cubbin
