Dear Parents and Carers,

A very happy New Year to you all. It has been wonderful to welcome students back to College, settled and ready for the new term.

We began the term by celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany. Over 90 students attended Mass on Tuesday morning at Our Lady’s Church, during which Father Michael blessed our new College Mission Statement. Thank you to everyone who contributed to its development. It clearly reflects our core values, our moral purpose, and the legacy of our founder, Blessed Edmund Rice.

In recognition of our new Mission Statement, we have introduced a new Edmund Rice Charism Award. This award will recognise students who consistently demonstrate all Eight Essentials throughout their time at the College, with their achievements shared across our global network of Edmund Rice schools.

Further details will follow, but I would like to share that FOSA are preparing to launch an exciting new project: the creation of an outdoor learning/social space. We are keen to work with a local landscaping business within our Anselmian community. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please do let me know.  Or, if you have any experience in this field and would like to be involved, please do get in contact.

Enormous luck to our mighty U16 Rugby team as they face Caldy in the Cheshire Cup Final on Wednesday at 4:30pm at Birkenhead Park RC. Merseyside Police will also be in College on Thursday at 10:30am for bike marking. A reminder also that tickets are available from reception for our Battle of the Bands event on Sunday 18th January 6pm in Future Yard.

I wish you a relaxing weekend.

Kind regards,

Mrs Cubbin
