Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to begin by commending the outstanding behaviour and maturity demonstrated by our Year 11 students throughout their mock examinations this week. Sitting a full timetable of back-to-back exams is no small challenge, yet they approached it with focus, resilience and professionalism. We are immensely proud of them and look forward with confidence to seeing how they rise to the challenge of their external examinations in the summer.

This week has also been rich in STEM activity across the school. Our Key Stage 3 students have been actively investigating, experimenting and engaging in thoughtful discussion around the future of machines and the role of artificial intelligence in the world.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our Advent charities and the Christmas FOSA draw. Tickets will be drawn during our End of Term Advent Assembly next Wednesday, and winners will be contacted directly.

We would like to make a polite appeal to anyone who may know individuals or organisations within industry who are upgrading their computer equipment. Donations of computers, monitors, keyboards or mice in good working condition would be very gratefully received. Please contact Mr Rumsby by phone or email at arumbsy@st-anselms.com if you can help.

Congratulations to our Edmund Rice Headteacher’s Award recipients, presented this morning:

  • Caden (7R) – Striving for Excellence
  • Noah (8K) – Compassion for Those in Need
  • Sean (9N) – Striving for Excellence
  • Gabriel (10A) – Striving for Excellence
  • Stanley (11K) – Concern for the Whole Person

We also extend our congratulations to Ethan Baddeley (Year 11) on being named Artist of the Term.

Finally, we wish the very best of luck to our Under-16 team tomorrow as they take on Cheadle in the U-16 National Cup. The match will kick off at 9.45am at Anselmians’ Rugby Club.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards

Mrs Cubbin
