Dear Parents and carers,
Happy Feast Day! Today is the Feast of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, our Trustees. The education provided by the College, and by 300 other Christian Brothers schools around the world, is informed by his charism.
We have marked the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla with pin badges for all students to commemorate this occasion. This is the first coronation of my lifetime, so it is truly an historical event, hence the Bank Holiday!
Year 8 Parents Evening went well last night, despite the inclement weather. Parents are welcome to contact Mrs Lyth and Ms Reeves about the progress of their sons if taught by them, as both were, uncharacteristically, unwell yesterday and unable to attend.
Year 12 Exams continue next week until Friday afternoon. Year 12 students have study leave when they are not sitting an exam. They are responsible for their own transport, of course!
Public Exams move ever closer with GCSE Spanish Speaking tests and GCSE and A Level Art Controlled Assessments for Years 11 and 13 next week. Mr Diaz, our Exams Officer, has sent Exam period guidance to all Year 11 and Year 13 parents. Written GCSE Exams begin on Monday 15th May.
FOSA have their next meeting on Wednesday 10th May at 7.30pm in Room 103.
I wish you and your families an enjoyable long weekend.
Yours in Christ,
Simon Duggan
Headmaster
