Dear parents and carers,

it has been an unusually disrupted past week, but I think I can promise you continuity of teaching and learning for the next fortnight until the Easter holidays!

The Year 13 Mock Exams are well underway and continue until Tuesday, as scheduled. Those exams missed owing to our snow day last Friday will be sat on Wednesday. Year 13 will return from study leave on Wednesday and students who have completed their exams will follow the normal timetable.

The Year 12 Parents Evening will be held in our Sixth Form Centre, Outwood House, from 5-7.30pm on Thursday. Year 11 have their post-16 interviews with a senior member of staff, to explore their plans for Sixth Form and future education and training on Wednesday afternoon.

Our Year 7 Lenten Form Masses begin today our prayer and liturgies will prepare us for Holy Week during the final fortnight of term. Our Lenten fundraising continues this week with Non-uniform days for Years 10 and 9. We also host a Year 7 Disco next Friday evening.

There have been some tremendous student achievements recently. Hot off the press is the victory of our Year 9 Rugby 7s squad in the Wirral GS Tournament, always a nice place to win! The boys defeated Stockport GS 40-5 in the final, to secure our first trophy of the season. Congratulations to Benji Sedgwick (Y12) and Liam Blackburn (Y10) who have both represented West Cheshire & Wirral at Hockey, winning the North-West championships and qualifying for the Northern Finals. Josef Healey, Henry Kellett, Finlay McGrath and Edward Unsworth have all played rugby for Cheshire Under-16s this term. Good luck to the 8 Anselmian runners who have been selected for the Merseyside Schools squad at the English Schools Cross Country Championships in Nottingham tomorrow. They are Ethan Brady Jones and Josh Longman (Seniors), Sam Clarke and Oberon Kearney (Inters) and Jac Chapman, Michael Phelan, Matthew Merriman and Malachi Harty (Juniors). Patrick Gambles (Y12) has reached the final of the Frank Moran Young Writers Award competition.

I wish you and your families an enjoyable and dry weekend!

Yours in Christ,

Simon Duggan
