Cheshire Under 17s started their County program with an away win 22-18 over the North Midlands at Worcester Warriors Sixways stadium.

Cathal Lynch played a significant role in the game and made several good breaks from scrum half. He has been in outstanding form this season and this was a well-deserved and vindicated selection.

This weekend the County Under 17s play Staffordshire and new 1st XV skipper Jack Mccabe; prop Dylan Gray and centre Charles O’Connor are all expected to be involved alongside Cathal.

This season Will Bell (under16s) and George Hassall, Chim Onyeoji, Jim Cowan, Jack Paziuk and Tom Whiteley (under 18s) have all made significant contributions to the Cheshire schoolboy teams.
