The Prayer of St Anselm

Grant Lord God,

That we may cleave to You without parting,

Worship You without wearying,

Serve You without failing,

Faithfully seek You.

Happily find You.

For ever possess You.

The one only God.

Blessed for all eternity.

Amen

O God we thank you,

For the life of Blessed Edmund Rice.

He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice.

May we follow his example,

of faith and generosity.

Grant us the courage and compassion of Blessed Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Prayer for the Morning

Lord, we offer You ourselves this day, for the work You want accomplished; for the people You want us to meet; for the word You want uttered; for the silence You want kept; for the places You want us to enter; for the new ways you want pioneered. Go with us along the way Lord, and enable us to realise Your presence at all times and in all places, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Prayer for the Evening

Watch dear Lord, with those who wake or watch or weep tonight, and give Your Angels, as Guardians, to those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord God; Rest Your weary ones; Bless Your dying ones; Soothe Your suffering ones; Pity Your afflicted ones; Shield Your Joyous ones; and for Your Love’s sake, do all this. Amen

Collect for the Day

O Heavenly Father, in whom we live, move and have our being, we humbly pray You, so to guide and govern us by Your Holy Spirit, that in all our cares and occupations of our daily life, we may never forget You, but remember, we are always walking in Your presence. We ask You this, through Christ Our Lord. Amen
