Our Year 13 students are celebrating a successful conclusion to their 6th Form careers after achieving very good A Level results with 51% A*-B grades and 75% A*-C. 99% of all students were awarded 2 or more A Level or equivalent passes, with 44% of all UCAS places at Russell Group universities. This maintains the College’s tradition of high value added from GCSE to A Level. BTEC results were also good with 17% at Distinction* and 62% Distinction+ grades.
There were many outstanding individual achievements with John Drace Francis, from Prenton, being awarded 4A* grades, equalling the College record. He will now study Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College, University of London. Charles Roberts, from Heswall, achieved 3A*& 1A grades and has applied to read Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, where Alasdair Laing, 2A*s and Distinction *, from Wallasey, has a place to read Human, Political and Social Sciences. Finn Evans, from Wallasey gained 2A* and 2 A grades and will now study Data Science at Lancaster University. Joshua Brown, Chris Burdon and Patrick Gambles all achieved 3 A grades.
It was also a good year for our Medics! Mark Sestan, from Birkenhead, secured 2A* & 1 A grade and will study Medicine at the University of Liverpool, while Head Boy Josh Adesina and Deputy Head Boy Padraig Ibrahim have places at Hull York Medical School. Sonny Groves will study Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool.
