Dear parents and carers,
this week ha s ended on a high for us after a clean sweep of rugby victories against Manchester GS last Saturday and the progress of our 1st and Under-16 XVs to the next round of the Cheshire Cup on Wednesday. The Year 7 Welcome Mass last night was a truly uplifting event and it was a pleasure to see so many new Anselmian families present in the Hall.
Year 7’s induction into the Anselmian family continues next Friday with introductory workshops about the Edmund Rice family of schools, delivered by our Lay Chaplain Tom Murray. Years 8 and 10 will also have social justice workshop classes with representatives of PRATYek India and the Justice Desk Africa on Tuesday morning.
As we build up to Year 11 Parents Evening on 19th October and Year 11 Mock Exams in late November, Mr Dowse is running a Study Skills evening on Tuesday at 6pm in the Hall. All Year 11 students are expected to attend, with a parent in tow!
Good luck to our Junior and Intermediate Cross Country runners who compete in the 1st Round of the English Schools Cup on Wednesday afternoon. We have a proud tradition in this prestigious competition! Our rugby players face their most demanding challenge yet this season in the Edmund Rice Schools derby against St. Ambrose College tomorrow morning!
Challenge Poverty Week ends today so we renew our appeal for donations of tinned and preserved food for our Harvest Festival collection for the Wirral Foodbank. We have had a good, but not overwhelming, response and will gratefully accept any further donations next week.
On a final note I advise you that there are roadworks locally and traffic lights at the bottom of Egerton Road. This is affecting the flow of traffic at 3.30pm, so please park elsewhere. If you do not you will deserve your long wait while the buses depart!
I wish you and your families an enjoyable weekend.
Best wishes,
Yours in Christ
Simon Duggan
