Dear parents and carers,

We have reached the end of a unique month of September in a deluge!

At this time of year, we collect items of tinned and preserved food for the Wirral Food Bank in recognition of the Harvest Festival. We invite families to donate 1 item if they can. We do recognise the financial pressures that currently affect so many people in our society.

Our Forms have contributed to our Book of Condolence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. This will be sent to Buckingham Palace next week.

The refurbishment work in Outwood is going well. The building is, inevitably, rather dusty so we have postponed our Year 11 6th Form Open Evening, originally scheduled for 6th October, until November.

Thursday 6th October is National Poetry Day. The video of the winning entries from this year’s Chris Salmon Poetry Competition are being broadcast on Wirral Libraries’ Facebook page from 7pm. Congratulations to our student Dexter Doyle who won the Year 7 competition.

We had big matches against Manchester Grammar School on Saturday. Congratulations to rugby teams on their wins.

Best wishes,

Simon Duggan

Headmaster
