Wellbeing zone – attendance

Being around teachers and friends in our College environment is the best way for pupils to learn and reach their potential. Time in school also keeps children safe and provides access to extra-curricular opportunities and pastoral care. Outstanding attendance is important to your child’s achievement, wellbeing, and wider development. Evidence shows that the students with the highest attendance throughout their time in school gain the best GCSE and A Level results.

Why Regular Attendance Matters

Ensuring your child’s safety is our top priority. Regular attendance (above 98%) helps us guarantee they are where they need to be during school hours, keeping them secure.

We provide an exciting and comprehensive curriculum at St. Anselm’s College. Every student deserves access to all learning opportunities available.

School is more than just classes – it’s about belonging. From new and exciting subjects in Year 7, memorable work experiences in Year 10, working closely with staff to prepare Year 11 students for GCSE examinations to Sixth form where futures are planned for life beyond the College. We strive to create a supportive community for all students.

Good attendance and punctuality are essential life skills. We teach and reinforce these values to prepare your child for their future endeavors, emphasising qualities like commitment and reliability which are highly valued by employers.

Regular school attendance strengthens friendships. Missing school frequently can make it harder for children to maintain positive social connections, which are crucial for their development, especially during their formative years.

Our College clubs buzz with exciting extracurricular activities, from sports like basketball and rugby to clubs like film, drama, and Dungeons and Dragons. By participating, students enrich their school experience and set themselves up for success in the future.
