Memories of his time at the College:
I was incredibly fortunate to have so many good teachers. All the work of the PE staff and coaches meant a lot to me and so many other lads in my year. Success breeds success.
Brother Power was great and used to challenge me a lot. I was a member of Wirral Golf Club and he played there too. He used to shout “boy in a man’s body” when I hit the ball out of bounds. Easy to do at Wirral GC! He taught me to think strategically and plan my sport more, without ever really knowing he taught me a lot about the psychology of sport.
Jean Murphy was amazing and gave me the confidence to read in public and challenge things. She really was a special person and inspirational.
In sixth form Tony Gynn was a brilliant teacher and the trip to London and the Houses of Parliament was incredible. Sadly taken from us way too young.
