Dear parents and carers,
I hope that you enjoy the Eurovision focus on Liverpool this weekend!
At the College we have reached a landmark because written GCSE and A Level papers begin next week, with GCSE RS on Monday morning.
Study Leave will begin for both Year 11 and Year 13 during next week, but not yet, when staff are satisfied that the boys have been thoroughly prepared by them and are ready to use the time productively.
We have marked Autism Awareness Week at the College, with training for all staff yesterday, and next week is Mental Health Awareness Week.
Our new Sandwich Bar facility will be available on the Lower Yard from June 5th, with pre-ordering, so Mrs Cubbin has emailed the details to you.
The Outwood Upper Floor refurbishment is continuing, and the crane is back! The Edmund Rice Trust will be contacting you this term about their contribution towards this essential development, including how they propose to address the £120,000 increase in costs, caused by the global economic crisis and supply issues, which is NOT funded by the DfE, and the ways in which parents and alumni might be able to support us. They will also be publicising our Gala Dinner on 1st July to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the opening of the College.
Please pray for our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they address the challenge of their exams which will have a significant bearing on their future opportunities, and also for those Year 6 boys and parents who are appealing for a place at St. Anselm’s, as well as for old Anselmian Canon Liam Dodd who celebrates his first Mass tomorrow morning.
Yours in Christ,
Simon Duggan
