On Wednesday, December 6th 2023 St Anselm’s College FTC Team, and other FTC teams from the North West Region came together for a scrimmage.

(Scrimmage – A small event run by a Regional hub, usually a team or Champion Partner, good for practice and playing experience. These events can have anywhere from three to twenty teams and may not include judging and awards. These events do not qualify teams for championship tournaments. May also be called a Practice Day.)

The teams worked together asking questions about each team’s robot and seeing how each team had built their robots and worked on their engineering solution to the Centerstage 2023 competition. Each team has shown how they have overcome obstacles to grow and become better.

St Anselm’s FTC team had a few technological difficulties early on. According to Team Principal Richard Hemmings, “We had a lot of challenges with the Servo motors, however, with a few adjustments and some advice from the Calderstones Team Manager we were able to fix it.

Overall, the teams have grown and improved so much since the start of the 2023 FTC Centerstage competition in September and are ready to keep doing better and looking forward to the Regional Competition in March.
