At the weekend, 62 Year 10 pupils completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. This involved cooking an evening meal and breakfast on stoves, putting up (and sleeping in) tents and then a walk along the Wirral Way carrying all of their equipment. The pupils generally coped well, although next time a glass jar of pasta sauce might not be best for carrying in a rucksack! We do a practice for a reason though, and I’m sure next time the pop up tents hanging off bags, very large stoves and kettles will be swapped for lighter and easier to pack items! Thank you to all of the staff who gave up their weekend to help out. We look forward to completing the qualifying expedition in July.
