Dear parents and carers,

I hope that you have enjoyed the warm weather this week. We now enter the final week of the A level and GCSE Exam season and our Year 11 and 13 students have persevered well and are on the last lap! Many have now completed their exams.

I attended the Grammar School Headteachers’ Association in London this week, including a Reception with Education Secretary Gillian Keegan and Sir Graham Brady at The Houses of Parliament, to ensure that the voice of St. Anselm’s is heard at national level.

I am pleased to advise you that the College has received a Fischer Family Trust Attendance Award celebrating the fact that our attendance was in the top 10% for schools last term. Thank you for your support in achieving this deserved recognition. Good attendance is a key factor in student success! We have also been awarded a First UK STEM Kit Bursary of £999.

Congratulations to Year 12 students Matthew Adebayo and Alfie Chesters whose places on Sutton Trust Summer Schools have been confirmed.

We have a busy week next week with the French and German Trips departing, Open Evening on Wednesday and the Year 12 Higher Education Evening on Thursday. Many boys will be acting as guides and Departmental helpers at Open Evening. Thank you for your support.

I wish you all an enjoyable weekend as The Ashes begin in sunshine!

Yours in Christ,

Simon Duggan

Headmaster
