Congratulations to both the Intermediate (Year 9 & 10) and Junior (Year 8) athletics team who each finished 1st place in their respective competitions at the North West Regional Final. Both teams have now qualified for the prestigious ESAA National Final which will be held in Chelmsford Essex.
The Intermediate Team scored a very impressive 497 points. The Intermediate boys top combined points scorer was Year 9 Charlie W (80m Hurdles, 12.3s and Long Jump, 5.62m). The top individual event point scorer was tied between Year 10 Joseph B (800m, 2:05.1) and Year 9 Matthew W (Hammer, 43.7m).
Platinum performances (25+ points in a single event) from Joseph B (800m, 2:05.1), Matthew W (Hammer, 43.7m), Jac C (1500m, 4:21.0 ), and Oberon K (1500m, 4:21.0).
The Junior Team score an equally impressive 461 points. The intermediate boys top combined scorers were Charlie K (100m, 12.1s and Long Jump, 5.14m) and Mali H (1500, 4:44.0 and Javelin, 33.56m). Both boys scored 52 points each, I can not overstate how impressive it is to get over 45 points so to get 52 points each is simply incredible.
The top individual point scorer was Charlie K with 29 points in the 100m.
Platinum performances (25+ points in a single event) from Charles K (100m, 12.1), Michael P (1500m, 4:42.0), Mali H (1500m, 4:44.0) and Anthony L (Hurdles, 12.8).
All of the boys have worked very hard to get to the Final and we are very proud of their successes, well done.
