Dear parents and carers,

we are now back in our routines after half-term, with only 4 weeks left until the Easter break.

Lent has begun and our charity fund-raising is now underway with cake sales and non-uniform days planned. Our liturgical focus will centre around prayer and liturgies, with Lenten themes being explored during Form Time and in assemblies. Year 7 will have Form Masses on Friday until Easter.

Year 11 have begun their Mock Exams. When they finish on Friday, Year 13 will begin theirs. Please ensure that your sons are revising and preparing!

Our rugby season continues with Sevens tournaments for all age groups this half-term. The Senior 7 finished as runners-up in the Birkenhead School tournament on Wednesday and next compete in the North of England Schools Sevens on Sunday. We host a qualifying round at The Ridings on Sunday morning with our first match at 10am. Supporters are most welcome. The Under-16s defend our reputation in the Merchant Taylor’s Sevens tomorrow. We won this prestigious tournament last year!

Our successful Year 8 team leave on Friday afternoon for their tour to Northampton.

We marked World Book Day on Thursday with quizzes for all age groups and a Book Review competition. The deadline is next Friday with a £10 prize for the winner. 7E have designed bookmarks for the occasion. Staff are also recommending books on the Library wall display.

The FOSA AGM is on Tuesday at 7pm in Room 103. All interested parents are welcome to join us to plan our next events.

I wish you and your families an enjoyable weekend.

Yours in Christ,

Simon Duggan

Headmaster
