Governor Pen Portraits

Mrs Pam Green

Mrs Pam Green

Chair

My association with St.Anselm’s began as a member of staff in 1989 until my retirement as Deputy Head, followed by an invitation to join the Board of Governors. I am the Safeguarding Governor, serve on the SWAD and Pay committees, and Chair the Curriculum & Standards Committee. For seventeen years I was responsible for Cross Country and shared responsibility for the successful athletics teams. During this time we forged strong links with Wirral Athletic Club which are maintained by my husband and I as coaches and team managers.

Mrs Denise Lynch

Mrs Denise Lynch

Governor

I have been associated with St Anselm’s college since 2012 when the eldest of my three sons was fortunate enough to start at the college. In 2016, I became a Parent Governor because I wanted to become involved in supporting and driving the school forward to build on its success. I have felt proud to work alongside such a dedicated staff and governing body intent on providing the best education both academically, pastorally and spiritually.

I am a member of the Student Welfare and Development Committee and Staffing Committee. I am also a link governor for SEND and Religious Education.

Mr Damian McDonald

Mr Damian McDonald

Governor

I left St Anselm's in 1980, to graduate with a BSC Hons in Civil Engineering from Leeds University in 1983. Diversifying, I became a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, and after spells overseas, moved back to the Wirral to take up senior financial roles in the food sector. I am currently CFO for Jones Village Bakery in North Wales.

I am delighted to be a Governor for my old school and am currently Chair of the Finance Committee. My family have a long association with the school, starting with my late father in the 1930's through to my brother, brothers-in-law and more recently to my own son, who left 6th form in 2017. We have all received a first class academic and moral Catholic education, which the school continues to provide to this day.

Dr John Oates

Dr John Oates

Governor

I was a student at St. Anselm's in the 1970s, as were my two brothers. My education at St. Anselm's enabled me to go to Medical School. I was the first I my family to attend university. My three sons have also benefited from a St. Anselm's education. I was an NHS doctor for 40 years, retiring in 2021. My clinical work was as a G.P. but I also worked at Board Level in the local NHS.

I became a Parent Governor in 2002 and subsequently a Foundation Governor. I am a member of the Curriculum & Standards Committee and the Student Wellbeing and Development Committee. I previously contributed to a review of College Governance and the Committee structure. I support the ethos of the College and hope my contribution as a Governor will enable current and future generations of students to gain the same benefits from the College Education that I have.

I have been Headteacher at Upton Hall School FCJ since September 2018. Prior to this I was Deputy Head (Curriculum) at Upton from September 2013, having previously spent 16 years as both Teacher of Biology and latterly Head of Science at Hilbre High School.
I am married with two teenage daughters.
