Dear Parents/Carers,

A huge thank you to all who attended the FOSA Christmas Showcase last Friday and to all who bought raffle tickets. We have contacted all of our winners; please let reception know when you are available to collect your prize!

Also, a huge thank you to our Mini Bus Corporate Sponsors. We now have a grand total of £23,000! Please see the website for more details on how to get involved.

This week we welcomed over 100 members of our community for our annual SVP Christmas lunch. Our 6th Formers served lunch and entertained all afternoon. We have also had numerous charitable activities this week, culminating in a staff football match at lunchtime today.

Yesterday, Yr11 experienced ‘A day in the life of a Sixth Former’. We started the day with an overview of the outstanding super-curricular activities available here for Sixth Form. Then students engaged in a range of new and exciting subjects including Psychology, Economics, Business and more. Some even managed to make it all the way to McDonalds and back for lunch!

It is vital that all Yr11 students are focused on revision; every day counts, success is modest improvement done consistently. Their mock exams begin as soon as we return in the New Year. Please ensure that your son has a revision plan in place and that you support him with completing independent study. I recommend a minimum of two hours each evening.

This morning we had a lockdown drill. This drill is in place to ensure all staff and students are kept safe in the event of an intruder or threat in the local community. Students conducted themselves in an exemplary manner as always.

Just a reminder, next week….

  • 17th Dec – Yr8 Non-uniform day
  • 18th Dec – Yr11 Non-uniform day
  • 18th Dec – Prize Giving Evening 2pm close
  • 19th Dec – SVP Jumper day (Blazers must still be worn)
  • 20th Dec – Close for Christmas 1pm

Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Cubbin
